With the year coming to its close, I think back on what is by far my favorite year as an angler.
I’ve been fortunate enough to travel and fish almost the entire country this year. With well over 20,000 miles driven to find fish, ranging from tarpon and sharks in the Keys to the tiny trout streams at 11,000 feet in the mountains of California.
I’ve fished with some incredible people this year, whether it was my lovely wife Alison, Marcos, and my trip to Texas and the Keys earlier this year, taking the kids out on the skiff, to meeting some incredible folks from all walks of life throughout the west.
The past few days I’ve been reflecting on all of the fish caught, trips taken, experiences, and great people I’ve met. The 8,000 mile journey Marcos and I did this summer/fall was one for the books and one I’ll never forget. However I find myself thinking back to my California trip in August the most, everything fell in line on this trip. The weather was incredible, the fishing was amazing, and the overall experience was just fantastic.
With all of that in mind here are some of the photos and video stills from that journey.
What were some of your favorite adventures from this year?
